Malcomb Durham at Aquasco would get a gear head's adrenaline pumping. Strickler (A/S) and Grumpy (A/FX) would race there as well. The beauty of going to the races in those days was that we never knew who would tow in for the day. Always exciting stuff! I saw Ronnie Sox putting race fuel in his car and he spilled some on his paint at the gas door and it ate through the paint to bare shiny metal. I guess paint wasn't as good in those days. After a few choice words, he gave me $5.00 and asked me to go over to the Western Auto and buy a can of White Appliance paint for him. Fixed that little problem.
