This appears what happens when no slow cars run to counter a fast ones average, sure would like to know how they can add 5hp to a p/g and subtract 3 from a stick.

The new rating has been applied to all 1955 180hp 265 automatics, not just the 150 body. The engine rating was changed to 197 in SS stick last year on 7/8/2014, but the auto rating remained at 200 until this new hit.

If you look at the first set of HP adjustments the 265 stick combo that was at 197 was given 5 HP by mistake. The auto was the one that was supposed to have gotten 5. All they did was to readjust it back to its original 197 and then gave the auto the 5 HP.

Exactly right Bob.

Jim no averages were looked at here. One auto car went real fast and triggered the AHFS. No effect on stick cars.

Not just one car, yes Schmidt went fast but also Rene Garza at Norwalk (.943 under)
i know there was some confusion on weights entered at since the mumbo jumbo that is AHFS is hard to keep track of, EVEN with TECH.

Confusion on weights is right. They made a mistake as the stick was 197 but even with my poor math skills how do they get 202 on the update page.
With my math a 55 post will be a natural n/a now so will not be able to run in p/a anymore.

Do the research, Nitro Joe showed 197 the last time I looked.
You'd think tech would catch that
Maybe a case could be made that those runs shouldn't trigger AHFS or maybe just as confusing to them
