"Bracket events that utilize the Re-Entry style of buybacks (1st Rnd only), where buybacks race each other in a separate round, with only winners advancing to Round 2, make it so everyone has to win the same amount of rounds to win the race"

- this is how it should be done if at all. My track LVMS does not do it this way in the local bracket series. The PSCA race last may did not either - as noted in my previous post.

Thanks

Someone with an open mind reminded me that races were started with a flag in the past. With the lost of class racing at all nationals you have to do something to give a guy to make a buck or two, if you say no way, what are you proposing then?Claude Ruel

I completely disagree. I race in the super classes and part of what I like about that is that there are NO buy backs. The majority of the super class racers are like the majority of stock, super stock racers and they do Not like buy backs

Claude - You sir , are trying to re-invent the wheel and by now even you will have to admit the Stock / SuperStock crowd wants nothing to do with this idea .Lose and you go help a friend or maybe fire up the grille but buybacks are something that just won't happen here .Leave them for the weekly bracket programs or the Million dollar races ..............And yes , I was there for the flagman deal - and buybacks weren't even thought of yet ..........

PS- I have a tough enough time paying attention for seven rounds let alone more .

I've been racing a long, long time and all the entrants at all the races I've attended prepared their cars and their driving skills to compete the best they can, knowing that if they lose first round, or round seven, they are done. I say absolutely NO BUY BACKS!!! John Bender. 1969 E/SA. 1967 Plymouth GTX

Buy Backs were not brought into bracket racing for the benefit of the Racer. They were introduced to bolster the bottom line of the track or promoter.
Are you sure you want to introduce Buy Backs to NHRA ? I'm sure one of their bean counters will figure it out and put a spin on it so it benefits them. Soon it will be who has the deepest pockets, OH I forgot it already is......
