Can you believe it-New England Dragway is trying to get spectators to attend a points race-who do they think they are? the Baders? BTW, I talked to a track official at the Norwalk national event who said they had 10,000 people pay $25 to attend the points race. That's in addition to the people who got in for free. I bet that if all tracks brought in $250,000 at a points race, the payouts would be a bit higher.

Do you think bringing in all of these Motorcycle classes brings in that many more spectators, i guess i can see Jet cars & wheelstanders. The Englishtown points race they do not bring in all of these extra attractions. Prob cause they have a Night of Thrills Race here in July. I do not think Atco brings in all of these attractions either.

Besides, i've been saying for years that ALL Sportsman Racers should add in 20-30 dollars more, before first rd. starts to ADD in to the Payout. SINCE ARE PAYOUTS
ARE TERRIBLE. 91 Stockers in New England. So 91 x $20= $1820. $1,000 Winner $400 R.U. $200 Semi's What Ever Happened To Low Qualifier Money In Each Category That We Used To Get. Just my .03 cents. Let the rumbling begin.

I do have to say Dave Mohn and the D1 crew and the NED staff did a great job this weekend.
Track prep was pretty good considering the track temp, And even with all the fluff classes that ran on Saturday, we were done racing before 2:00pm on Sunday and on our way home by 3:00 pm. ....The D3 guys were racing all night ,judging from the DRC reports ! BTW, The Fuel Harleys are awesome to watch,Those guys deserve way more admiration than the TF& FC Nitro jockeys. and the rest of the Harleys dont take 10 min. to run.

Was tech warning people about the Camaro hoods at this race? They were at the Div 6 race at Woodburn last weekend. I think there were about 5 or 6 cars that got the warning to have then fixed before Aug 1st.

Awesome race.
Tom is right. Overall the Harleys and Snowmobiles took minimal track time.....In fact they probably helped with the turnaround for the TAFC and TAD. I was happy to be done with one round in the late afternoon and fire the BBQ and able to enjoy Saturday evening with the family rather than hot lapping around the Saturday Night Alcohol Elims. A lot of credit has to go to D1 and NED staff that baked in the sun. With temperatures in the upper 90s for the majority of the weekend they really had to be dedicated to stick it out. Many of us could escape to the motorhome or shade for some relieft. They didn't get that option Last edited by Mark Howes; 07-22-2013 at 01:36 PM. |

If I remember back a few years ago Tom & Kathy did a little bounty for the Super Gas guys at all divisionals. Everyone threw in $ 5 or $ 10 and the driver who went the farthest in eliminations got the bounty. It was a nice little bonus for the SG guys & gals to add on to the payout. I think if I remember at Cecil one year the guy who went to the Semi's got an added $150 or $200 bucks. Tom could maybe chim in on the details but, it was a cool little bonus.

We stopped doing it because you had people forgetting to pay and then getting mad when they went to the money rounds and wanted to pay then and we would not take their money. It can work and pay off ,but it's a lot of work for someone to do it.
