For the record, the Viper/Challenger has a reworked Powerflite 2 speed which is before the Torqueflite. TCI did it for Mopar for this car, The rear is a shrunk 9 1/4 Mopar which is reversed to be a chunk type. You guys get everything confused.

Jeff Are spools made for 9 1/4's? Reversed to be a chunk type......I am trying to visualize it....can't.....

Maybe I should have a beer to clarify my thoughts....

This is done to better react to any out-of-line indexes or under-horsepowered combinations. Therefore, at all such events, a 3.25 percent horsepower adjustment or index reduction will be initiated Tuesday following the event. The decision to adjust horsepower or to reduce the index will be at the discretion of the NHRA Tech Department.

If the car was run as a B/SA car, it was 1.295 under the index.

If the car was run as a C/SA car, it was 1.445 under the index

Either way the "racecar" should have received a 3.25% increase in NHRA horsepower.

How can NHRA NOT adjust the horsepower??????????????????????????

NHRA is turning into a punch line from a bad joke.........

Money is tight and I voted with my feet regarding the joke that NHRA has made of my sport.

Bob
Big Guy, The excuse is going to be:
No official qualifying sheet..
That begs the question: What if the DP car set the record that fast?

I don't think "most" of us are. I think it's the same group as always.

Boy those DP cars are a dog on the top. Only picked up 4 miles per hour in the last half of the track.

(good thing there was no sand bagging to keep from getting HP)

If Dempsey Pendarvis was trying to set the C/SA record? Wouldn'T they weight, seal motor & check gas after he ran under the record? You would think this would verify his run for the AFHS. Larry I`m with you. Tom

Sure seems like these DP cars are having a hard time with that C/SA record. How many attempts now? Looks like B, C, D, E, F/SA are still carbureted antiques from Detroit. What does this say about records?
