By remembering their service and their sacrifice, we recognize the tradition of freedom these men and women fought to preserve. They believed that their actions in the present would make a significant difference for the future, but it is up to us to ensure that their dream of peace is realized. On Veteran's day(Remembrance Day in Canada), we acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of those who served their country and acknowledge our responsibility to work for the peace they fought hard to achieve.
Something to think about on this day.

We in this country take our daily freedoms much to much for granted, and typically without any thought at all of the sacrifice that so many have made for general good of the rest of us.
When today, this one day of the year, that all of us should certainly stand up and say thank you to our past and current vets, the most important topic on all of the network news channels, has been the poor, poor people that were stuck on the cruise ship out in the so-cal ocean (for 3 days) with only cold spam, bottled water and all of the free booze that they wanted to SURVIVE on. Ain't that a shame, and what they must have gone through. OMG!!! It's time we ALL get our priorities back in line. fyi - My Dad (& our family) spent 22+ years in the USAF / CIA.... and got out only then because of his declining health. God Bless you Dad. We are so glad that you came home, because so many have not.
