Ok. I am not sure I understand what the problem is? Blinders are allowed, right? That means all the racers can race the way that suits themselves best as things are now rather than having a pro tree and shutting out those that dont like the pro tree for this type of racing...now..would not that be the most fair thing for all "card carrying members" alltogether? What am i missing? I always felt it was better (and more satisfying from a personal perspective) to make one's self better, rather than attempt to change things and re-invent the wheel to better suit themselves. Just the perspective from a has-been, retired Stock racer.

A thread about an ugly Dart with an engine that can't compete had over 10,000 hits. That was much more interesting to everybody....I guess.
I was never for the anti-deep staging rule. I'll probably be 50 by the time my car gets done so I may have to follow Don's logic.

NHRA has classes for pro-tree racers, there is nothing wrong with the current system in Stock and Super Stock.
Don, what is your gripe with the full-tree? How is it failing you? Here is why I think it is a bad idea: First, I doubt any stick racer will want to have his or her motor on the chip for seconds at a time, screaming at high rpm, while waiting for a pro-tree. Sercondly, I've tried it and it is not that great. I raced in Open Comp (chose your dial, pro-tree), races and it is great as long as you are leaving first. When you leave second it is very hard as you are almost always distracted by the car leaving in the other lane. There is a distinct advantage to going first. If you want a pro-tree then just "block" like most of the successful racers do. Evan

Don,
I see you really must be bored with your other site and you don't like no-names... But those are the rules on this site, this is why its so popular ... Please, stop trying to change the rules and remember its free, so you don't have to use your real name ... Agree or disagree those are the rules. Your car came out great, sounds ? I too agree with David F. go super Pro racing and leave rules alone for a while... Lets get them to inforce the ones they have first .... Be careful we don't want this site to end-up the others..... Good luck with the new car...............And leave Ed alone , its Xmas......

Dons old car ran 9.80's and put him in the middle of the field during eliminations. Now his new car runs 9.30's and now he is in the faster half of the field and has to wait to long for the tree to come down because of more slower cars then him and does not want to ruin his converter.
I was never a believer in removing deep staging, but I don't see any of the slower car drivers asking for this change of pro tree so it must be a change that Don wants to have for his personal gain. See you at breakfast Sat. Don. LOL Jeff Stout Oh yeah anybody looking for a Ed Quay 85 Monte super stock GT car. Fair price as I don't see the fun anymore in class racing and want to go stock suspension turbo or nitrous racing. Last edited by Haywood; 12-04-2009 at 10:57 AM. Reason: more |
