Hank, our prayers to you and the family. Shirley was a very special lady, tough as nails and a heart of gold. Like Beard said, I always picked with her about smiling and usually got a litte laugh out of her. She will be missed by many!

Thank you X-Tech Man, I found that phone number and was able to reverse it but it only gave me the city he lived in. My card is going out in the morning.

Smile Re: Thoughts and Prayers to the Blankenship Family (loss of Mrs Shirley Blankenship)

Just a note to all racers and a few words from the heart......For those racers who never chose to race IHRA for one reason or the other I just want to say you missed the chance of meeting one of, if not the finest officials, person, and lady connected to drag racing. She always had a kind work and a smile for those who visited the tech trailer for decals, memberships, car numbers or a kind word. Who ever takes her place will have a mighty large pair of shoes to fill. I consider Shirley and Hank a friend and even though we are not related....I think of them as family. God speed to a real human being. We should all try to be a little kinder to each other by being more like her. Myself included.
