Man. I sure hope you guys don't rip me up like this while i am at the races working.look at it this way ,at least you have a choice. If i h r a was not here you would not have many options left . I race and work and very glad we have places to race at. Just can't please everyone , "at least not at the same time" .i work for i h r a and sometimes do not agree with some things they do ,but somehow we all get through it or get over it .1/4 mile racing is a lot of fun ,but i for one do not want to see anyone get hurt. I bet if they ran 1/4 mile and something bad did happen ,then you would be on here bashing for a bad call to race 1/4 mile. Can't we all just get along and just give it a try. Then you have that choice that i was speaking of earlier to go or not go ..sorry for the long vent here ,just think you should give it a try .

Pittsburgh ran Fuel cars there before they added 300 ft. to the finish line ,TV tommy Ivo ran the first 5 second dragster there in the early '70's....Let TS &TD run 1/8 th....It's not too short for the rest of the sportsmen.

Its not too short, its too bumpy. Get over it! Also a "National event track" should have more than individual wheel scales in the gravel. Thats obsurd! Its also WAY too short beween the water box and the starting line even though you drive a hundred feet outta the lanes down to the water box!???. And I've cooked the brakes on the motorhome twice getting from the turnpike to the track. But hey, they do have really nice lighting! But I'll never go there again..

Pittsburg is just like every other race track, there are good and bad things about it. Here is a good one that I heard from a customer of mine: He told me that he heard that Quaker City did not have a Pro-Am this year because they didn't make any money at the 2008 divisional!! All that I can say about that is WTF??? If they didn't make any money at that race.........that means I have never been to a divisional that has. It seemed to me that there were more spectators there on Saturday night than I have ever seen at any Pro-Am. Moral of the story is I think sometimes we don't always get the whole story. There has to be reasons that IHRA didn't go back to Quaker City and Milan. Whether it is IHRA's fault or not, it happened and we have other choices. I really wish that they did go back, but there are tons of options for us living in division 3. We have division 1 and 5 as realistic alternates, remember you only have to run 4 in division races.

I am with you guys. Quaker City had to make money. The stands on the right side of the track were full and there were people clear past the finish line watching. I walked by the concession stands and there was always a line there as well.
I hope everyone gives this new format, new division layout, and race distances a chance. How 'bout 1000'???

I think that'd be a blast! Be a pain for the Rod classes, though, just because they don't have any setup data for that. Aw, heck, give'em an extra time trial and let it rip!

I am puzzled as to why San Antonio didn't get even a nibble. No national and no divisionals, could it be the 1/8th mile problem? I know the attendance was poor at last year's national but could it have been that bad? Any one know about this? Lee
