That sprag is the weak point of a 200. As long as you don't back up hard or up a big incline or use low gear in the pits or in the water box it lives very well. The water box may be the worst. It is a little tricky to do a burnout starting out in second, but 200's live very well if you take care of them. I send mine back to be freshened at 200-250 runs because I feel guilty. Paul Forte at Turbo Action builds an amazing transmission.

So you say using first to begin the burnout might be unwise with these 200's? I could easily adjust my procedure if that is the case. I've been told by several Stock racers I'm not near as hard on the car doing burnouts as they are and it appears they use first gear also.

When I raced my LT-1 Firebird Stocker I manually shifted it and did burnouts starting in second gear and quickly shifting to third as soon as the tires spun. A local redid that trans that came with the car when I bought it as a roller. Trans never failed but case cracked for the next owner. 2.75 first gear 200 Trans

Just talked to Thomas and he agreed it was weird as well. I'll pull it and haul it to him shortly.

Taking the trans to Thomas this week. Barring any problems the freshened Stocker engine is going back in the car and I will be at Bowling Green this Sunday for the first Combo race this year.

What's the entry for a combo race? Im considering coming down to that, if my track cant open... we've had so much rain, lately, the pits are too soggy... I think my car will run, but have no idea...hehe Its about 4 1/2-5 hrs tow...

If I remember correctly it's $50 total Brent. If Thomas is able to work me in by Friday I'll do my best to have everything together for Sunday. Like you I will be coming near blind as to how the engine will perform.
