Continuing the Thank You acknowledgments:

*Gary Hettler - I bought heads and intake from Gary and with the very first phone call he was a wealth of information. A very nice, experienced man who goes beyond helpful with his customers. I followed his advice and the results prove he knows his SBC combinations. Thanks Gary, I appreciate you.

* Phillip Vickous at Quick Fuel - As part of Gary Hettler's advice I called Phillip about the NHRA accepted replacement carb for the 327/300 combo. Quick Fuel VS 585 race carb. It is perfect, out of the box, untouched. In addition, I bought Quick Fuel 175 pump and matching regulator. The fuel pressure is rock steady and only needed to be checked, not changed.

*Chris Padgitt at Comp Cams - I have been a customer of Comp and Chris for many years. Chris is my go to guy for cams.

*Rick Sisk Performance Machine Shop - Rick and I have a 40 year relationship. His machine work is top shelf and so it his knowledge. He is a key part of my engine building work.

*Mile High Crankshafts - Good folks going a good job, family operation. I was struggling with finding a 327 small journal core and of all things, he found one in his home town of Denver. He did a full SS race prep at very reasonable cost and the dimensions were dead on the tenth.

*Charlie Plott at ATI - Another recommendation by Gary Hettler and of course, spot on. Converter, damper, flexplate all perform as expected.

*Randy Mans with Quick Shocks - After a number of calls to several popular shock builders I was frustrated. I was hearing, "those S-10's are a problem, poor weight distribution, we do not build a shock for them" [so to speak]

Then at the recommendation of some on this board I called Randy. "yes, I have done some of those and have a program for that application" Again, spot on and as expected. Thanks Randy.

Two more for now:

*REBCO Machine - using Bill Miller forgings REBCO built a quality piston that was exactly on spec. Valve notches machined as ordered, valve to piston clearance as requested. beautiful work.

*Total Seal Rings - Keith sent the exact ring package as ordered. I honed the block and installed the rings per his recommendation. At start up the engine gave one puff of smoke from the assemble oil and dried right up. Engine is oil tight, breathers are dry.

This will complete the Thank You notices [well, as least for now]

*Todd Bevis - I meet Todd when he worked part time after high school for Gary Harwood.

Todd is an experienced builder, welder and suspension expert. I am fortunate to have him as a friend and contact. The Super 10 four link setup is at his suggestion.

Thanks Todd

Larry and team,

Truck looks great! The pictures were only a tease to getting to see the real thing. The attention to detail shows everywhere.

Glad we got to talk a little, and glad the truck worked well. Always nice to get a win light on the first pass with a new project... sure everyone was happy for you, except maybe Max... LOL He will get over it.

See you soon.

Ken

Larry - I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I have truly enjoyed following the story of the creation of the Super 10 through this thread. Please do not stop now! Let this continue to be a journal of the next phase in the history of this neat race car.

Dwight,

We have only begun the journey!

When I began this buildup post I had no idea the interest and following it would create. I have completely enjoyed the sharing. Being so public and so visible has worked out to be a good thing.

Y'all stand by, I am just resting few days.

Our next round of post will begin the process of gradual weight removal as we move the truck into a competitive position in GT/T"B"

The next race outing will be the Lucas D 4 race at Thunder Road near Shreveport LA. September 18 - 20
