The rule book is quite clear on this.
ALL 2008 and up cars are allowed a 9" and an NHRA approved suspension. The corporate transmission rule applies because the Supra is built in a joint venture with BMW. BMW has a history of running GM transmissions in their cars. Not one rule was changed to allow this car into the guide.

This is interesting, I'd like it better with a stick, but I'm sure the automatic will make it more driveable for most. I'd fit in it. Key is a close fit cage, done with care. Factory ECU or aftermarket, I use VF tuner for my street/strip toyota trucks. What Chassis shop is doing the build?

This has gone to 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon or should I say 7 degrees of GM. NHRA new slogan should be SHOW ME THE MONEY. Just fallow the money. The history of nhra was built on providing a safe place to race and done safely but now they rarely even check the minimum of any safety device, let alone following there own rulebook that is not safety related items. What is the point of the rule book anymore, run what you brung.
