When he went thru the lights on his 3rd round for Class, engine popped and died. Kyle pushed it from the last turn off to scales by himself( his ever present crew-chief is home sick). The cam pin that drives the opti-spark snapped off. He was able to fix it the next morning with the generous help of Jimmy Hidalgo and P C Richards which he very much appreciated.

Kenny,

Thank you for the kind words. My dad and I have been working on it over the off season and had high hopes. The work seems to be paying off.

Mark,

I tried to get him to post that I had a header tube break away from it's weld then go flying around the engine compartment until it snapped off the Optispark, but he told me you would call foul to that.

The pin broke and the car backfired then died right at the last turn before the sand. I had to push it from there. Man I was regretting not taking the earlier turn. At least I had a lighter combo rather than that pig heavy combo that Pedigo runs. (I am sure he will have something to say about that cheap shot).

I thought with the newer and friendlier NHRA that I would have gotten their first Ironman for the longest push of a racecar, but they had their hands full with important stuff.

That is the biggest down side to the LT1's,, did this numerous times,, was able to change it out in less than 30 minutes. Not something I wanted to get used to doing.
