I wish I could say the same. I think this has a lot to do with the low car counts.
The few real crybabies have nhra's ear at the time. This all started with "Qualiying only" at Indy No class winners then qualifiers. And it's all about punishing hard work. You are supposed to work hard on your car to get it to be fast. (within the rules). Then when you go faster than the guy that did nothing they factor you. But I think the laugh will be on the crybabies. When nhra does away with their classes alltogether. And just runs index classes 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, and 13.0. Then the playing field will be equal, there will no longer be the "ego" guys just looking to run quick. Everyone will (should) have the same mindset as Biondo, Fletcher, Beard, ETC. A win is a win it doesn't matter how fast you go.

Protect mode is a popular option when you're gettin' jiggy with your significant other. Seeing that its April 1, so to speak.

So for instance if you get a 5hp hit and have to add and est 60lbs, if your car is fast enough that you have to lift @ 1000 ft and coast the last 330, shouldn't the car be fast enough to carry the extra weight and run all the way through??
I have heard people on here speak of 1000 ft races in SS how do you decide who wins ?? I really have no intent on stirring up or making anybody angry on this forum, I'm just a second generation racer who wants to follow his father into the ranks of SS and I'm 'just trying to use every resource to learn what i can.Thank you as always. The one thing I like about the hood scoop cars is they hit the index, so everyone in the class has to go faster. The problem I have with going fast is my motor is very rpm effected. The higher I shift it the quicker it has gone. (to a point). But by using the power I'm taking life off the motor. I can run for years shifting at 7000, but it really likes 8500.

Take away the reaction timers also. It worked for years without them.
