There are a couple of things that I noticed. I didn't see a factory weight box, but that shouldn't be a problem. It doesn't appear to have much set back to the engine. That may be due to it being a V10. I would be a little concerned about getting it to hook if it makes power like the other combos have been on 9" tires.

Don
Power? maybe. But the v-10 Viper engine is ALL aluminum! But I don't know what it weighs compared to a new Hemi or conventional Mopar small block.

Hey Jeff, any chance these will be offered in street trim off the showroom floor?? Awesome car!

Rumor has it that there is a supercharged version and a n/a version and one is light enough with the aluminum block to still fit in A/SA .

That is some combination ! Is everybody assuming that the trans is a powerglide or is this a mopar one off trans ? Best reason I can think of for offering the 2 speed is to make it easier to hook with small tires ( 9 in.) ! Would it be a retroactive trans to the 2009- 2010 Drag Paks ? Cannot even begin to ponder the the ratings on this motor ! GONNA BE AN INTERESTING WINTER .

Good thing they will probably be classified in something like G or H....... My max wedge is becoming more and more obsolete as the days go by!

Good point, Michael. Jeff doesn't seem to realize that most of us are not wealthy or own a dealership. It doesn't matter about the brand. All older stockers are being hurt by the new bogus cars.
You run a mopar, I run a chevy, RJ runs a ford. Who cares about the brand. A loss is a loss no matter if it's a chevy beating a chevy or a mopar beating a chevy.

This is what a 2010 viper has

With a 1mm bore increase over the previous generation engine, the new 8.4-liter (510 cubic inch) A356 T6 aluminum block 90 degree V10 motor now achieves 600 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 560 lb-ft of torque at 5,100 rpm. An assembled steel articulating CamInCam® camshaft, that allows variable exhaust valve timing, along with the new VENOM engine controller, with massive processing power, provides the necessary technology to achieve these very high output levels and still meet idle and OBD requirements. Other new features for the V10 include: - New cylinder heads with larger valves, CNC chambers and throats - Flat top piston with 10.2:1 compression ratio - Race tested swinging oil pickup from the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe - Dual electronic throttle bodies (ETC) - Low restriction induction system with dual mass airflow control (MAF) - Air-gap headers and low restriction exhaust system - Individual high energy coils for each cylinder - Platinum tip spa

The newest Viper has a 640 or 650 HP option above the standard 600 HP. Basically headers, cat-back and air filter mods. Wild-***-guess I would say these V-10 will be at least 850 HP as delivered. And we haven't even seen what the compression and cam specs are. There's probably some CNC heads on the horizon as well.
I know Mopar tried submitting a V-10 to NHRA previously and NHRA was not interested. My, what a difference a day makes!
