That calc for mine is 6-tenths faster than the car runs - wish the car went that fast.

I've run this formula all the way up and down the national record pages in ND from Comp to Stock and you'll find when you start comparing numbers it's more likely that the formula is more accurate than not. It does not work on the Funny car / Top Fuel classes.
The resistance is when somebody is convinced either they or their hero can't be off track. My best ET / MPH in SS/H has been 10.02/132in D/S 10.55/125 and in A/FS 13.26/99.66, each being off by only a few hundreths from the formula. I don't give up until I can meed the goal. It also shows if you are trying to meet an ET goal that it sometimes takes more MPH which equates to HP (given no aerodynamic changes being utilized). So enough about this formula, the bottom line is anybody that's been around drag racing for awhile knows a 146 MPH run is quite capable of a very low 9.20 ET.

I am not sure what the problem is with this car because it is running in SUPER STOCK. George already said they changed some things for Super Stock, and it only went .66 under. I didn't know a car going .66 under could cause so much controversy. Even if he is holding another .5 seconds it still doesn't make him number one qualifyer.

I started this thread to bring attention to the fact that a new cobra jet was being raced in Atlanta.
Not intended for any controversy. I am a race fan and I'am excited to the fact that FORD has taken an interest in sportsman racing. BRAVO to Brian Wolfe and all at FORD who are responsible for igniting a fire in the powers above to allow this program to go forward at a time like this. Also a big congrats to George and Jimmy for their efforts so far with the convertible. |

Bruce, quit your crying. At Atlanta out of 70 plus super stock cars, they're 11 mopar's and 5 ford's, the rest are gm products, would you feel better if they're all gm?

146 mph, eh? Did anybody else hear about this?
Maybe these engineers tell Bruce stuff like that just for fun. |
