Checking to be sure the distributor has clearance with the oil pump shaft. In this case we need two of the hard nylon Moroso shims.

The Super 327 is ready for service in the Super 10. It swings back in the engine bay to stay tomorrow.

And about the valve covers, those are factory original 1966 300 horse Corvette 327 covers.

That is my story and I am sticking to it

My Son Jeff pointed out that my old engine stand could tell many stories and he is correct. I bought that stand about 1970 and if I remember correctly it cost $22.00 from Custom Automotive in Dallas Texas.

I do in fact have two other more "modern" stands yet the old original has supported so many successful engines I do not want to break the line of success.

While I do have a wide collection of tools a number of my special building, measuring, checking tools are "classics" An experienced tool has value and comfort.

That's a slick spring compressor!

I've really enjoyed your build and I can't wait to see the results of your hard work. I'm sure it will run as good as it looks.

Jon, Google LSM tools. They have a number of slick, racer friendly items.

Each day the progress is accelerating.

The super 327 is settled in to stay for a while. Most of the wiring and plumbing is already roughed in so hooking up to the engine will go quickly.

Of course, many small things remain yet you can tell a test outing is only weeks away
