Re: Original hemi dart information
Ever here of John Cooper. Installed roll bar?? Roll bars weren't mandated till 69 or 70 I believe for A/MP. No roll bar required for Super Stock B then. Too bad, no pic huh??

Re: Original hemi dart information
Daryl,
Though it wasn't required, Several Racers installed a Lakewood 3-Point 'Bolt-In' Roll-Bar in the A-Body Hemi cars in 1968 and 1969. It was an inexpensive piece of safety equipment, and they didn't weight all that much, only about 45 lbs. Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 12-27-2014 at 12:50 PM. |

Re: Original hemi dart information
Kinda like this one? Not many racers add weight unless they are mandated to, but of course there is the exception.
Jimi V. pulled this bar out of this car & installed it in one of his. I believe it was "The Behemoth" wagon. Great pic of the ad. So, we know that Larry Cooper had a LO23, but who is John Cooper? liteweight Last edited by Liteweight; 12-26-2014 at 10:51 PM. |

Re: Original hemi dart information
The yellow Dart that Lou Mancini had for a while - Cooper had a partner - they never raced the car.
As for Larry Wilbur, I invited him to the Hemi Reunion at Quaker City. He and his wife came and they brought some original paperwork for the guy who now owns his old Dart. Nice find Paul! Mark J 1968 Hemi S/S Registry |
