Just noticed the shot of Gene's car on the trailer. That is the day we picked the car up from Ed Miller in Virginia. Who had that photo?

This is the sad history of A990 Plymouth no. 32.
The car was delivered to Holiday Chrysler/ Plymouth in Edgewater NJ, without a designated buyer and it sat in the showroom for months until racing season came around in 1965. The car was not bought with the intention of racing it. At the time we all raced at Atco three times a week, fri., sat. and sun. While we all had stockers there were three guys in Edgewater township that campaigned a dragster with a 409 in it. These guys bought no. 32, drove it on the street for a couple of weeks and then took the engine out for their dragster and pushed the car out on the street in front of the house and that's where it stayed for over a year and was still there when I left for college. It was listed for sale in an east coast car and parts magazine but I don't know it's destiny, I never went back to NJ...anyone have any ideas? Jim Rountree

No I'm the one just over rear window with sun glasses. I drove the alter wheel base, old S/M car and as I was driving the Poor Boy at that time for Sam, I may have been doing double duty that day. Can't remember that far back . But the truck in front was mine, and the guy at the door (with red hair and blue shirt) of Poor Boy was part of my team Left too right they are,John Rayford , Harry Cambell, Me, Sam's neph.Sam just behind him (just see part of his head), Ronnie Hensley, and unknown last |

Jim Wick was a Wisconsin based Super Stock and Pro Stock competitor and this A990 Coronet was still active at Great Lakes Dragway in the mid 90s.
