No signal at the track again today, and didn't get out and about to take too many pics. Was trying to stay on top of the weather and paying attention to what was going on on-track. We had a few sprinkles off and on, and a couple of wrecks (no one hurt) that slowed down the pace, but the Piedmont and IHRA staff worked to complete a race that would've seemed hopeless at the start of the weekend. We finished up, and then a little more than halfway through the line of winner's circle photos, the sprinkles returned, so we just got it in!
Lots of good racing in Stock. Jamie Southards earned her keep with a .000 light against Lee Truell in Rnd 2, and then had a dead-on 0 run later in the day. "BPE Free" Hillarey "Don't throw away my bottle" Sloan "plug my tire" Leggette made it an all-girls, all-Sloan Racing Engines Stock final, but a pink -.006 red light gave the win to Jamie. I believe the semis were youngsters Adam Keir and Cody Phillips. Despite brandishing a headache as big as he is, Brandon Peterson whipped up on the Super Stock field just as he did in debuting his Camaro a year earlier. Peterson relegated Homer Carty to a semifinal finish and stepped on a Duck in the finals, trouncing Michael Beard with a solid .012 bulb. Beard advanced to the finals after a semifinal red-light from #2 qualifier Mark Young. Congrats to all the finalist. A shout out to Billy Plage on his #1 qualifying spot in Stock. I know he has been working hard on that Hot Rod.
A Great big Shout Out to Piedmont Dragway for pulling this off. They could have pulled the plug at anytime but they kept with it and finished the race. Chip |

Michael,
Tire plugs are my friend! I couldn't tell you how many times that has happened to me. I still can't believe dad threw away my awesome zebra-striped cup with a pink "H" on it......and BPA free too! |

We were pitted on the grass before you go through the gate and it got quite messy but the Piedmont staff showed up with wheat straw and spread out over the mud. I appreciated everything they done this weekend and they deserve a big pat on the back!
