...must have been teched as a 2009 Cobra Jet, I wonder how that works as it is not in the book?

...also as it made runs that went into the 9's and without a cage etc, maybe NHRA will say the car was illegal and therefor will not, did you hear that, will not get the 'automatic 1.40 under' HP hit.

...could happen, a 2009, not in the book and no cage, huh?

I thought I had heard about a racer being told last year that if he went in the 9's without a full cage, he was DQ'd from the event, no questions asked.

So now trying to get some good seat time in the car to learn the cars feel.

I would think you would get a feel for the cars potential during test and tune sessions, not during events.Unless you could care less about speeding up the process of getting this combination factored into Super Stock, where it belongs anyway.Maybe not a bad idea,Ford has milked these cars for enough publicity.

I know the car was at an all day Test and Tune at Quaker City Raceway on August 9th. I saw it going through tech, but didn't watch it make any passes. I was tending to transmission problems with my own vehicle.

I was told in Houston that my cage didn't meet spec. Wesley said put a 4gc carb on it and put 200lbs in it and run GT/H or load it up and go home period. Also was told don't come back without a new cage in your car. ED

The first time I ran my car at Gainesville was a Test N Tune night. First 1/4 mile full pass 9.95. You would have thought I had committed the un pardonable sin... At the ticket booth I was told to go straight to tech. Not back to my trailer first just straight to tech... Track manager and I believe even Don came to tech. They wanted to see my chassis cert. I didn't have one... The cage was there but just not certified.. I was told if I made another pass under 10 seconds I would be banned from the track for one year. I packed up my game and went home. Got the car certified and all was well..... this is a NHRA owned track and I understand the rules and don't have a problem with them as long as we ALL play by the same rules....... Just my 2 cents worth........

Ah yes! The rules that we all have to play by. Depending, of course, on who your friends are, who your sponsors are, how much you're willing to spend and how much you're willing to bitch.
