Well said Jim, you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm sure I will have my work cut out for me in AA, but the challenge will be fun.

Chad,
Welcome to my world, my combo weighs 3500 lbs. in G with a small motor and an even smaller carb. But that is my choice ...

How will the CJ devalue any other car? If anything it will enhance the class and bring us much-needed attention. A cool Stocker, whether it's in "A" or "G" or any other class, will have a value based on performance, looks and overall popularity. Stockers seem to retain valve better than just about any other type of race car and I don't see that changing because of one type of car no matter how fast it is. It's not like people are out there buying up the fastest Stockers in the country.

They are very concerned about thier invested time and money..That I know for a fact!.they dont all have "paper cars".They are Class racers and take pride in winning class...you all talk about the bracket eliminator...this all seem staged..lets hope it turns out good!!

I don't have a horse in this race as I'm down in E/SA, but I think Kenny is taking the right attitude, he's up for a challenge and that's what this sport is all about. I think it's going to be interesting how this all plays out, but I wouldn't be shaking in my shoes just yet if I had a good running old Camaro, Vette, Mopar, Mustang, etc. that ran in AA or A. Nobody even knows how these new Mustangs are going to hold up, what there weaknesses are, etc., etc. Looking at the underhood photos, I sure as hell would not want to have to pull a cylinder head on one either. The other cars I've mentioned have been proven for nearly forty years.

Bruce!!!! No I don't want to see anybody get hurt ,including myself ! I'm just an old diehard racer who wants to race, and see what happens with the class! I don't have a car in that class, but close, C/SA !.I also feel that if the Fords are allowed in stock , the NHRA should have allowed some other cars in stock. Everybody race safe!!!!! . John Lang

Guys,
There is no challenge between a 40 year old car and a Supercharged 2008 Cobra Jet with 800 Horsepower.

Evan,
You have done a good job with your posts so far. But don't ask us to believe the 2008 CJ will enhance the value of our cars. They will come in and reduce the value of every player in the class. They will cause a stampede for the gate. Nobody, who wants to be a player in AA or A will consider buying 40 year old metal to run against these Rockets. Geezz, you can not believe we are that dumb! You and Ford both know this. Now, have you ever heard a Ford employee say the CJ motors make 800 Horsepower?

Chuck,
You are a funny guy. Really wish I hadn't spent so much time listening to your past sob stories.

Jack,
You need to get your nhra buddies to approve a Supercharger for my car. You know, the ones who blessed that rear in your current race car. Go pull some strings for me while you're sitting around with nothing to do.

I think if Roush racing has anything to do with the development of the engine, then I dont think holding up will be a problem!!

Wink Re: Factory experimental

Bruce -- Instead of pulling some strings for you how about if I just yank your chain ? Your new Corvette AA/SA can have the same straight axel 12 bolt that I now have in our GTO ............

Opps -- One last thing -- no Supercharger for you ! ! I'm feelin' a little like the soup **** here .

PS -- 800 HP really ?? Thats 2.42 HP per cubic inch . You gotta lay off smokin' that stuff they grow near you .
