After studying the rule book I decided to nix any future tech problems concerning a cold air kit by just using the factory air box and associated duct work. Just not sure the aftermarket plumbing would pass scrutiny.

Spent the afternoon trying to figure out the mass of wiring in the engine bay...what a wad. Got the brakes bled...going to try to finish the wiring under the console tm and get out of the interior for good. I'm just hoping when I put a battery back in it the top will go back up lol.

You can get rid of the air box and hose and use a K&N cone filter.

But will it draw more heated air that way?

Hey Rich those rockers are done by Comp, that is what I use on my motors had some issues with the broaching in the adjuster the allen wrench part and Ford sent me a new set. Have used other rockers but these are the best I have used, not a lot of manufactures make pedestal rockers that are adjustable. I paid 209 for my last sets I bought. Have you or anybody heard of people getting hassled on there intake tubes. most cold air kits draw air from the same place as the stock air box, from inside the right front fender. You can lose about 12lbs on your steering wheel for very little money by a grant steering wheel and adapter kit, I think I was only into mine about $60. Love the thread.

I was concerned about using non-stock ducting...using the factory pieces I suppose it is a cold air set-up of sorts.

If I do anything at all with the steering wheel it will be removable like the one in the Camaro...sure eases entry.

I was wondering about the stock intake ducting, also. Seems like the rules are up for interpretation. Any one have some clarification?

I'm wondering about this air ducting thing too.
It seems anything before the MAF is okay, or nothing there is okay too.
But if the original deal starts out behind the headlights, is that as far forward as you go with a hose? Or can you run the hose down under the front?
I assume that would be considered ram air and not allowed.

Anybody with any real time and space NHRA Stock/ Super Stock experience or rulings on this?

If you talk to 5 tech people you will get 5 different answers.
Ask me how I know that.
Granted, I have only been to about a dozen div and national events with my car, but nothing from the throttle body forward is stock. No one has ever had a negative comment about. Airbox and tube has been replaced by a 4" OD aluminum 2 piece tube with the MAF in the middle. Clamp on filter is in the apron.

I figured my solution would be beyond question...everything is as factory produced.
