Hey guys, well when you race NHRA you think you have seen it all. Opens are supposed to be friendly I believe, but not so today. Stock was called up to the lanes for second round, normal right... well the ladder came out 5 to ten minutes before they called us, but it was not posted. So if you had a heads up run, you had very little time to get ready.

That's just one issue... they paired us up and then there was a meeting with all drives at the head of the lanes, It seems that did not pair us according to National Open rules. Instead of pairing us on how far under our index, they paired us on who ran closest to their dial in first round. If you went under you were put to the bottom of the ladder.

So they sent us back after we were paired to redo the ladder. They had the meeting in the lanes, and when you are meeting with 30 plus drivers, you get 30 different opinions. The redid the ladder, called us back up an hour later and they ran 2nd. I pretty much had enough of this and decided to give my opponent a single. I used to like the opens and divisions as I thought we would got better treatment than being at a National.... I am so over this. .

Anyway guys, I have tomorrow off and will get some more videos and photos from this weeks action.

Sorry I misread it, you said 2nd round

I thought national opens were random pairing………….

Marty,
I can not get off of work to be at Numidia on Friday for qualification. I can be there on Saturday morning. If weather continues to degrade will I be able to get at least one qualifier on Saturday? I have been here before and been forced into first round without any qualifying runs. Ray

I never heard of getting paired up by how close you were to your dial from Rd 1.

Who came up with that idea ?

Good morning all - I really wish I could tell you folks that this AM everything is OK here in the mountains but the truth is the only thing that is good is the fact that it isn't raining and the Sun is out. Seems there are a lot of unhappy campers this morning - mostly about the ladder issues. We had plenty of time to get the race in last evening but it just didn't happen.Even with that there was some good racing in the dark ( don't get the wrong impression - they have very good lights here ) .

The schedule calls for racing to resume @ 9am .

One last thing - I believe somewhere out there Kaylyn is smiling ........

Later ..............

Good morning everyone, I few more shots from yesterday. Weather is about the same with showers coming in later. I will be back later with more photos and video riding through the pits.

I was wondering what happened to you, I heard them call you several times and didn’t realize it was that screwed up
I understand taking a stand but not making the run? It’s almost like giving into them
but I get it.

I guess we’re all gonna have to be on our toes to keep this stuff straight. I was first pair out in super street last time run with a perfect light. They tried to give the buy run to someone else. I did get that corrected before it actually happened. Everyone needs to keep an eye on what’s going on.
