Great videos! Super nice to add the current technology and airplay it on the flat screen tv.
What I want to know is when you will post the “Bill Sprague” interview?

I was surprised how poorly most all the stick cars (S &SS) left the starting line. Most seemed to blow tires off with virtually zero wheel stands. And frankly, most of the stockers were the same way. |

Awesome job, Don. Thanks! This is sure something to watch during the cold off-season.
Side note: With the close up vids of Kopps' B/SR, looks like you, like myself, are a fan of the old street roadsters! They've always been one of my favorite race cars. Sadly, this one met an untimely crash. |

Happy Holidays all,
I just added 3 more chunks from the video vault, with some kickin cars of the late 1990s. The 1997 St Louis National Open, the 1997 Topeka Div 5 race, the Indy Div 3 opener, and the Union Grove Div 3 race. I am driving my own SS/L car for the first full year, except for the St Louis Open, where the red Chevy II, is wheeled by ace driver JD. Most are filmed after making a run, and then grabbing the camera to record others. Some of the films are by my great helper / crewman Dave. There are also some runs of class eliminations at the US Nationals in 1997. If you aren't capturing any racing for yourself, its a mistake! I only wish I had an HD camera then. A link to where the fims are on you tube, user donsof https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7I...t=dd&flow=grid Also my sorrow to the families of these guys appearing, that have left us: Jeff Stealy, Gary Tompa, and several more. Do mention names if you see someone who has passed. Last edited by Don Sofranko; 12-25-2020 at 11:23 AM. |
