Late eighties, Great Lakes Dragway had a notorious beer garden. The staging lanes were heavily populated with drunks.

There was Al, doing his best to chase the drunks away from everyone's cars: Not exactly a safe thing to do.

I met Al & Bev at my 1st Div 3 race at Stanton,Mi. Greeted me like a long time friend, When Bev would be on a morning walk, she would stop and say"Good Morning".

Last time I saw them was about a year and a half ago, same greeting and smile just like the first time.

RIP Al. You will be missed.

Prayers to Bev and their family

Sad Day for sure. Back in the late 80's my Dad was always 99.9 pct of the time first in lane to run time runs with Al in the Obi-Wan Malibu O/SA and we was at a race in Gulfport Mississippi that Al was off on the lights and asked my Dad to run him in time runs to get him back on the lights and my Dad laugh and did it. Al was always first in line at the races and 99.5 pct we would be second in line behind Al and Bev. Prays for Bev and the family! Al will be missed for sure and he's in a better place. Very sad, Al was a real friend and willing to help anyone.
Rest in peace my friend.
