How did they run the format at Gainesville? I guess I thought it was qualified and put on a ladder.

It is my understanding that all of the Shootouts use that format; he just may have shot himself in the foot.

2015 Factory Stock Showdown Rules NHRA Technical Department announces rules for the 2015 Factory Stock Showdown. In addition to these rules, the cars must also meet all requirements as outlined in the 2015 NHRA Rulebook. The competition includes entries from two Stock Eliminator classes with each class running as a separate category within Stock Class Eliminations, and a winner being crowned in each. The two winners will then square off for the NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Championship using a handicapped start, based on the quickest run of each class winner. Each of the two class winners will receive the NHRA Class Wally trophy with the run-off winner being crowned the NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Champion. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the NHRA Technical Department at

Does the factory shoot out cars effect mineshaft conditions? Are they part of the equation or removed from the rest of the field statistically?
Based on the 2nd round it should be mineshaft conditions and then class could be interesting in the am.

We are all done for the day. I have a bunch of random photos from today. Weather did not change much. These are the average numbers for the day.Temp 61, humid 58%, Bar 30.16, DA 450, tail wind 8-10mph.
Jack has been having some issues with his car, it might be a engine, I'm hoping not, but it looks like his weekend of racing is over. He told me he would be here reporting, he is a good man to stick around. I have a few videos I will post later tonight. |
