Default Timer 2 caculation

Once I figure out my throttle stop factor/ratio. Where do I find how to do the actual math to know how much time to add or subtract from timer 2. I know you guys know how to do it but who taught you in the first place? I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks, I'm still learning!!!

I have been there and read all of it. He tells you how to figure out your ratio. I'm asking where it's posted about the math to figure out how much time needed to run a 10.90 something. Example I had timer 2 set at .6 and I ran a 10.75, now I want to run a 10.90. my car has a ratio of 8:1. What's the math?

8 to 1..... ? wow ! you might check that. however,

you need 15 hun of et change..... so you would use your 8. 8 x 15 = 120 add the 120 to your .6 to slow the car.

Most ratios are .... 2.0 to 3.0 depending on combo.

tell us what you have maybe we can help....

Rick
I was getting help from some seasoned 10.90 racers. They came up with 8:1 after I made some passes with a little time then a lot of time in the box. I agree it sounds high and I may have to revisit that but the math was responding with that ratio for that weekend.

Rick who taught you the calculation to figure it out? Am I missing the fact that it's a standard math equation? Or is it customized for this application?

They used different math!! I have to wait 'til I get home and I will let you know his math. Bare with me.

Thank you in advance.

Straightliner,

Post up your times and the weather conditions and I will enter it into my software. It will tell you the ratio.

I'm with Rick, I think your a tad high on your number. The best thing is seat time and good records.
You won't be able to slap up 10.900's all the time.
Do you have a good weather station ?

Could you define a "tad" high? Rick and I both run super comp and I know my ratio is around 2.8 to 1. I would consider 8 to 1 to be excessively high, but maybe in a heavier SST car the ratio will be higher considering the weight of the car and the HP of the car. What kind of ratio, and what kind of MPH do you run with your car? The car in question ran a 10.75 with only .6 in the timer 2 so it doesnt appear to have a lot of extra HP. Maybe it needs that much ratio to work. According to his posted numbers, the ratio he came up with appears to work. What does the car in question weigh and what does it run full out? I was looking at some of your posts in other topics and should ask you are you using the 3 speed or glide and are you shifting on time or by rpm? Also, what is your first timer?
