Jeff Lee, they are going to add weight to equalize the different brand of cars. Plus it 1/8 mile racing. Tom

Carnac sees three to five years until, like Top Stock and Hemi Challenge, 3 to 4 heavy hitters separate from the masses, and it dies out......sounds good at first but the model does not work.

Amen to that Alan!

Awesome! This is exactly what it should have been from the start, NHRA will be wishing they had done this first by the end of it.

I wonder if they will follow stock eliminator rules, or super stock, or what.

Also, I wonder if ADRL only being 1/8th mile will hurt the turnout, I hope not.

If you can get the guys to go short-track racing... thinkin' that may actually be a little bit of an equalizier against the supercharged cars that are currently set up to run hardest in the back half.

Took a couple years, but a couple of months ago, I finally convinced Beaver Bob to showcase these cars at one or more of his big shows at Beaver Springs Dragway in PA. No brainer.

Thanks to all involved for getting it done at ADRL.

I am looking forward to enjoying the "Show" at a track near me! Joe jr. will have to have a Mopar again, because that Tiger is just to big for a Mustang.

Let the spending begin!!!!!

WHAT, line up side by side and race to the finish line. Man, what a concept. Good job Bret, you know drag racing and this should be a good racing. I think when ADRL gets to Bristol and Z-max you will, as will everyone else, realize how this concept worked for so many years. Everyone remember what you wished for.

At the PRI show ADRL was working that captive audience for three days. NHRA stood at their booth, handed out National Dragster and tried to sell memberships. Almost anywhere you went you saw them with their clip boards talking with anyone that would talk with them about their 2012 season.

Seems like someone had an idea for heads-up, all out racing to the finish line and drew 500+ race car and sold out the track every day they were there. If you raced or attended the races, you know what it was like sitting in the staging lanes and the guy standing on the box in the middle of the track, stirring up the crowd, comparing the rivalry between Ford, Chevy and Mopar. You could hear the noise from the crowd inside the car with the engine running waiting to stage. Only reason that ended was due to conficts with the originator of the concept. Even if you disliked the idea, you might want to keep your ear open because it is coming back.

Congratulation Bret, we don't have a new car to compete but we will be at Z-Max to see this work. I, like you, have been around drag racing all my life and was part of the heads up match race days and I don't think you will see the grandstands empty when these cars pull to the staging lanes. Jeff, make sure that car has the wheels high when the first race is run and represent old style Super Stock proud.

Short Version 3250 V8 Unblown, 3450 V10 Unblown, and 3650 Blown all subject to adjustment, but any adjustment will be with a fine carving knife, not a fire axe. NHRA rules, specs, 9 in tire Stick & Auto same. There have been about 400 of these new cars sold, new ones are getting finished as time and money have permitted. And maybe some SuperCar races at different tracks. I am hoping this grows. We learned plenty from Top Stock, what to do and not do, so I am hoping for longevity, but I do know the pitfalls of Top Stock and SS/AH. Sorta like the old cars of the 60's, and maybe with a new crowd that knows more about computers than heads. Any interest jefft@southlanddodge.com 985-804-6161 cell or business 888-876-1817 leave a message with the receptionist, but tell her it is about racing. More as it unfolds.
