Tom & Others,
The best route might not be the fastest , but if you get stuck on the Tappan Zee bridge you could lose 3-4 hours ... So for racers close to Rte 81 in PA , take it north to Scranton, then PU 84 east towards NY/Conn .. When you get into Conn. ,stay on 84 towards Hartford, Conn. going thru Hartford at rush hours can be a task ....Stay on 84 to the Mass pike, take it east, get off on rte 495 heading north towards NH , get off on Rte 93 N towards Manchester, NH... Stay on 93 ,pass Manchester & take 101 E ( Epping is about 20 miles on left side ) No tolls other than Mass Pike & NY bridge .... This route has some hills , but much easier drive , not much Traffic... If late at night you could chance Tappn Zee as others said , they are always road repairs .... Good Luck to everyone attending , very nice track and Great Seafood .... * You can e-mail me if you have any questions daveribeiro@aol.com

FYI - Massachusetts State Police use unmarked Crown Vics, Dodge Chargers, Ford Expeditions and they also have a few unmarked F150 pick-ups with caps over the bed. The Expeditions and F150s are usually members of the "truck team" and they have portable scales.

Shorter rte., fewer hills. About 290 through Worcester. You save a little bit of toll and a few miles, but if rush hour, stay on 90 to 495... 125 N is shortest, again ,depending on time of day. Stores, gas ,restaurants might be helpful to you. Rt turn on 101 and the track is 1st exit.

Once you get into Sturbridge Mass at the Jct of I-84 and I-90 be careful. The Sturbridge State Police Barracks is at that exit, follow Bob Don's suggestions regarding the unmarked vehicles. If you choose to take I-290 east (Get off I-90 at the Auburn exit instead of paying more in tolls to the Westboro/RT495 North exit) it will bring you thru the city of Worcester, and right into I-495 North at the Hudson / Northboro Mass line. I would suggest as BP did, and stay on RT 495 North to Rt 125 North (Plastow NH exit) and follow Rt 125 North for 20 miles to Rt 101 east, (There's a 24 hour Wal-mart at that junction) Get on Rt 101 east for just 1 exit . Get off at the "Dragway exit", take a left over the bridge and into New England Dragway's parking lot! We'll be driving this route tomorrow to attend the ASRA double header, and will follow up with any detours next week! BTW Tom, I sent a sample of the pocket Dzus tool to S&W Greg |

Greg, another 5 secs we would have beaten the fire extinguisher !
Fortunately it was the cold fire type not dry powder, a little polish on the aluminum was all it needed.

Stay off of Rte 125 unless you like the stop and go. I personally (Towing from Chelmsford, MA) go 495 North to 93 North then to 101 East and drive to NED.
