Here's a little story about the new generation.
I had a 69 camaro BBC superstocker (just sold) and my 22 year old nephew loved it and thought it looked great and great sounding (he couldn't wait to drive it). Well I take him to Mike's (MPR) where we were dropping off the camaro to have some work done and sure enough there were the new Fords (with the hood open) and new Challenger's (Big's) sitting there being tricked out. After one look at what could be done to those cars, then he could have cared less about my Camaro and wanted me to sell it for one of the new ones. I agreed with him

Last week at Bradenton, Brien Radley came up to me in the third round and told me there were 11 cars left, 1 station wagon, me, and the rest were Camaros. I lost, but I stuck better than any one of them.

i think the new cars have a long long way to go and a ton of wins yet before they dethrone the 69 camaro in drag racing.i have been at indy before when 60% of the feild was made up of red camaros....the new cars have a place and are neat cars ,but far from an icon like the 69,yet..

could be worse. It could be super comp, 160 "engines on a stick". I'd need a horn and a remote (like keyless entry) to figure out which one was mine in the lanes.
