Dumba%^ moment here. I've seen these classes listed in the IHRA rulebook. What is the difference between these and the regular CM classes? Are these fuel injected crate motors or what?

No...These are FWD conversions with an accepted crate engine similar to SS/GT rules except use smaller tires and suspensions more in line with stock. It wasnt one of my better ideas.....lol. Very few were ever built.

Terry,

Thank you for the clarification. I knew that front wheel drive conversions were allowed in CM. Didn't know they were classed differently. Now I understand. Similar to Stock GT, these could be mini-tubbed and allowed a "modified" rear suspension, ladder bars, no four links, LOL! I wager they would be expensive to build and other than bracket racing, no cross over possibilities.

That's the difference with a conventional CM car. I have some options, could build an NHRA motor in the future.

Sorry to the original poster for hi-jacking the thread.

The engines allowed are SMALL BLOCKS only. NO big blocks.

Mike you may wish to add a note on your weight break post that V is restricted to 4 and 6 cylidner only cars, W is 4 cylinder only.

JSLR, basically what that means is in NHRA if the car is an 8 cylinder car above 20, it will have to run in U even if the NHRA rating is let's say 23.25.

Oops. I had mentioned that in post #8 in this thread but hadn't wrote it in the maser copy that I sent Ken. I will rectify it.
