Any interest in this type of racing elsewhere in the country, and if so, what indexes would make the most sense for 1/4 mile racing?
That would be 8.40, 9.50 and 11.0 according to Wallace Calculators. I was thinking 8.90, 9.90, and 10.90 just like the super classes, just don't use the tstops. I was thinking of the 8.90 becasue there is a lot of money and chassis from a 8.40 to a 8.90 car. You would not want it to be below 8.50 to keep costs down.

At Gateway in Missouri we have heads up classes called Gateway outlaw all stars. I believe it's 13.00, 12.00 , 11.00, 10.00, 9.00 on a 5 tenth Pro Tree. I run S/ST and slowing down with weight and timing. So this is familiar with me. With a stick you can't throttle stop or run a delay box. I guess you can set up a delay box but I don't want one. So I run S/ST with no electrionics and no throttle stop. Makes you work harder and it's a blast.

Out here In Calif. I run D/gas, 10.60, in my pickup. Only problem is it's a .400 tree. My 4000 lb turd won't react that fast. Now .500 tree and ??????????????
I like the heads up no electronics. For me I take some weight off to get to the number.

I remember exactly where I was and the sinking feeling in my stomach when saw a delay box for the first time. I knew that little Deadenbear thingie was just the beginning. About 5 years or so later when a guy I was driving for started hanging all the crap on the car I decided I was done. I could have my digger and me ready to license in about 80 working hours if it was about driving from the seat again. But, I don't see that happening.

It really sucks because I'm tired of bumping my head on that thing. Just a .02 from somebody who had a lot of fun in the past.

Just like FrankM mentioned earlier - we run .90 index heads up pro tree classes from 8.90 to 12.90 - All are no electronics, no throttle stops.
10.90 and quicker can use transbrakes - 11.90 & 12.90 are footbrake only.

We've been running these classes for the past 10 years. Car counts vary by class with 10.90 being the largest. We've had fields as big as 34 cars in 10.90 and as little as 4 cars in 8.90....

For some reason, 12.90 seems to be a very low car count - you would think that it would be one of the largest fields as it's a fantastic class for entry level racers.

Our series also runs an open comp and pro comp class (1 tenth breakout allowed) and some of the index racers run both their index class and one of the comp classes.

www.raceosca.com - see schedule and bring your cars up for some fun!! We get quite a few racers from western New York.
