Adjer...Have the Outlaw Fuel Altereds ran there BEFORE ? Or will this be their FIRST appearence there ?

And "GREEN" track....it's not only NEW but ALL CONCRETE ! Just like the Motorplex....with it's NARROW GROOVE !! I've seen too many crashes there and one DEATh from getting out bof the groove !
Plus theres a lot more than just the track with having the whole track crew with some knowledge & experince with what's going on ! You can't put a "GREEN" track crew in for your first big race. And I;ve seen nothing in the Dallas paper about the track.......Lot's of LUCK guys !

Now what kinda person that drives a fuel altered is scared of anything?!.. I'd guess those fuel altered guys would be licking their chops. And if the track was built correctly it won't take a round or so for it to get rubber enough to fly... Only bad thing about a track like that is its too far for a yankee to drive, well if I wanna keep my job anyways..

The IHRA crew will take care of that, and they aren't "green". They come to Tulsa and make it hook as well as any track I've been on.

Technology on track grinding is light years ahead of anything they had even 5 years ago. But 25 years ago come on. They just polished Piedmont this past winter, totally different surface, all concrete and Ricky has been 3.90 there. On a green track.

We, like Beard, have known about the Dallas track for almost a year now and I live in Florida. Wish IHRA would build a track like Dallas somewhere down here! Jim

I have worked with Jim Weinert and I can tell you first hand he is the best in the business when it comes to track preparation, He has designed and built his own track grinders. If he has any doubts whatsoever about the track surface , he will not send a car down the track.

If a track has a narrow groove, it is due to how the track is prepped, not the composition of the racing surface.

There are several all-concrete race tracks around here, including the aforementioned Piedmont Dragway, Farmington Dragway, and Roxboro Dragway, all of which have been redone in the last couple years. All have fantastic surfaces, and to my knowledge were good right out of the box, and that's even without having the national event crew and equipment there.

There are a bunch of people who are happy to have a new national event facility in the neighborhood, and there's ONE dude on a message board proclaiming that no one's ever heard of the track and no one will go, yet there will be traffic problems, and it will be a narrow-grooved death trap. Are you for real???

Instead of trying to generate fictional problems, why not turn the energy into learning more about the facility and its sanctioning body, and find out how you can help.

Evidently, someone's been familiar with the track for quite awhile...

If I remember correctly Charlotte/Zmax is all concrete and built in 6 months. As a matter of fact they bull dozed part of the pit area the week prior to the innagural national event and repaved it. That's cutting it pretty close to your big national event if you ask me and I have to say that was the smoothest, best hooking track my old 10.5 inch tire SS car has ever been down. I bet if this Dallas track was NHRA sanctioned we wouldn't be hearing all of the negativity. Put the key board down, pick up your tools, and go to work on your race car...you've got a national event coming to town!!!

I think you have mistaken Tracy, right now NHRA is a dirty word and most are tired of they way they have been treated. I am a DFW area bracket racer and we've watch this track being built for the past five years. Hopefully it will breath some badly needed fresh air into the sport. We are still waiting to see what kind of program the track will offer racers. The owner is from a heads-ups back ground and I've heard that he is not big on brackets and may run special programs and TnT nights. We now have five really outstanding tracks in the DFW area. This should bring two national events and two divisional events with in thirty miles of Dallas. Now if our three local eight mile tracks would put on a couple of SS/Stock combo races I might put the 65 wagon back in stock eliminator.
