No opinions on the incident at Osceola?

We were at this race standing in the staging lanes, we saw the officials wave the racer in to make his run and his opponent was missing. After he recieved the green light and made his run we turned around to see his opponent jump out of his car and start ranting and yelling at the officials, when that fell on deaf ears he made a bee line for the tower. Later we saw him running in the finals. This really suprised me as I thought he was out, as I understand things they (the officials) call the racers to the lanes,We (the racers) have the responsability to present our entries IN THE STAGING LANES AT THAT TIME for pairings and to make any lane choice decisions dial in changes Ect. Now that being said I've been on both sides of this deal, I've been thrashing at my pit trying to get ready due to unforseen issues and I've been up there waiting for my opponent who leisurely rolls up as their running our class. This is just another example of the lack of sportsmanship in sportsman racing. In all the years I've been racing I've never failed to try and introduce myself and exchange a few words with my opponent I guess trying to civil and polite is something that has went by the wayside. I have several friends that race 2 cars and I think that is fine as long as they take the responibilty to have them IN THE LANES and ready when they are called, if that is not possible than they need to make the neccesary adjustments. I for one don't really understand the reasoning for these last minute APPERANCES in the lanes however it seems to be the same racers most of the time, be it first round or any one after.Sorry about going on so long but this particular thing just rubs me the wrong way. I am sure that this will stir up a lot of controversy but if ihra and nhra would only allow a driver to only race 1 car at 1 race then this waiting game between rounds would not happen. I think that it is a little unfair to the single car racers because the 2 car drivers get twice as many shots at the tree. Just my thoughts.

That's the logical solution,1 car 1 driver.Do you think NHRA/IHRA would ever make a rule like that?
The touring sporties would raise such a stick it wouldn't go anywhere.
I had a situation this past weekend at the Dutch for first rd.I left the head of staging and stopped behind the water and didn't see the other car move.I shut off the car and waited ,and waited.The official in the box motioned for me to move up.I hesitated for about 15 secs.Finally i had to move up.It's not the ideal way to win a round but I felt I did all I could to give the other racer a chance to race.
My only win came at Atco in 2006.I had a single in the final because my compitition had problems in the semis.I waited for the longest 45 minutes in my life.They finished the Atco race AND the runoffs from a rained out race.Finally I was told that was it.What helped was that I ran dead on on the run.And my opponent was a good friend.As satisfying as that win was there's still a bit of a void.That's why I'd like to win one with a car in the other lane.
Personaaly I think Scott got shafted.The officials made a dicision to let him go on a single.It wasn't his fault they didn't have a handle on the cars remaining.

From what I heard there was only 7 minutes between when each run was made. That is tough to make even if you have a crew.

I'm sorry...it was NOT my opinion ! It's what I pulled up on the Summit site. I wasn't aware there were two seperate elimination at that race.

He was in with both his stocker and superstocker and down to the semi's with both. Who was his crew?!?!? He traveled by himself. He won with the stocker, got in his superstocker (didn't even have time to put the stocker on charge), went up and there went Pierson with the bye run. Lets not forget about a round prior, when Aaron Allison waited 15 minutes for Pierson to change his starter before they ran! IHRA stated that they were not aware Brent was in with 2 cars, they called both drivers to the lanes, and it was AGREED to re-run, and Brent won.

Somebody helped him. He had a guy about 50yrs old sitting on a 4wheeler behnd the bleachers while Brent was arguing his point with the officials. He also had some young guns helping him. in the finals, while he ran his stocker, one of the young guns drove his SS up to the lanes, and the old guy brought him up to the car on the 4 wheeler. Were guys those your crew?
