For all you nostalgia racing buffs join us at the NE OHIO drag racers Geezer Gathering Jan 29. Doylestown OH. We show old 8mm movies from NE Ohio tracks from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Dragway 42, Norwalk, Thompson, even the old Akron Airport and Howland Dragway. This year featuring 64-69 photos from the Dragway 42 track photographer, Larry Miller and Tim Arfons will show family video from Boneville. See events page

It was neat to see some former comp racers Norm Larricia (Santo Volpe drove his A/SR) and Mauri Rose, Jr. (son of Indy 500 winner Mauri Rose, Sr.) on that list, as well as current comp racer Bert Dawson (car was a 39 Chevy-I'll have to talk to Bert about that car. But my favorite was the entry of our hometown hero drag racer in those days, Kenny Adams and his New Breed Drag Team's 57 Corvette.

Thanks Travis! I was on the entry list but I think my car broke in the staging lanes that year.Back then all the guys in the neighborhood helped put the car together and one of us dropped a carb nut down the manifold! 58 pontiac F/SA. Bob Michael.

You're right, I never drove anything that old. But I do have fond memories of those lumbering Olds 88's. Big & ugly and ssslowwww. Liked 'em anyway
