Thanks Travis, for the trip back to our roots. Can you grasp the pure lunacy of today's writers mentioning Stock and/or Super Stock in the same article, much less, the same paragraph as Fuel dragsters?!

It was neat to see some former comp racers Norm Larricia (Santo Volpe drove his A/SR) and Mauri Rose, Jr. (son of Indy 500 winner Mauri Rose, Sr.) on that list, as well as current comp racer Bert Dawson (car was a 39 Chevy-I'll have to talk to Bert about that car. But my favorite was the entry of our hometown hero drag racer in those days, Kenny Adams and his New Breed Drag Team's 57 Corvette.

Thanks Travis! I was on the entry list but I think my car broke in the staging lanes that year.Back then all the guys in the neighborhood helped put the car together and one of us dropped a carb nut down the manifold! 58 pontiac F/SA. Bob Michael.

You're right, I never drove anything that old. But I do have fond memories of those lumbering Olds 88's. Big & ugly and ssslowwww. Liked 'em anyway
