Re: Another SS/B car to stir up...............
I've watched Jimmy race for 40+ years, and have always enjoyed the way he goes after it. Thrilled to see him win another one.

Lots of great cars and great racers in SS/B, but Jimmy will always be quite a challenge to beat! I always enjoyed watching Bridges vs. Schindler in SS/E class on many occasions. You could always count on a great race with those two. Hope to see Mike, Jimmy and many of the other great SS/B Chevys and Fords at the Gators! Mark Berg I/S 2665 |

Re: Another SS/B car to stir up...............
I have my Eye on the SS/C AMX of Aris to keep up with the SS/B cars. Unfortunately, it doesn'y look like he can take enough weight out to drop to SS/B. Adkins SS/B AMX has seen 9 'teens. The stubborn old coot won't listen to me and purchase one of Rob's clutches! If he did, I would expect to see .05+ off of his ET. I sure would love to see the cross-ram legal for the '70 AMX!

Re: Another SS/B car to stir up...............
Jeff,
Seems like sending a letter works. 55 chevy has a 4 spd, a turbo trans. It seems reasonable to allow you a 2X4 set up.... The more the merrier..... Adkins works very hard and is gaining on them.....Jimmy Bridges deserves credit for INDY. I missed the show but winning Class at indy counts BIG... Dick Butler |

Re: Another SS/B car to stir up...............
I could but it takes a complete front clip with '69 front suspension, inner fenders, hood and grille. Most aren't aware of the complete revision to the front suspension in 1970...but NHRA is! And after ten + years of looking I finally have a pair of correct Holley carbs. Rare as hen's teeth. Had I found the carbs before I painted the car all purdy, I might have changed the front clip. Now it's kinda tuff to think about taking the sawzall to such a purdy car.

Re: Another SS/B car to stir up...............
You could build another chassis and switch the good stuff and have a new second car....but the saws...all and upgrade is still cheaper to join the SS/B deal. Its only money and you cant take it with you...besides as someone on the site says "you cant put a price on a good time"
Be great if it was that easy wouldnt it...? Come on 2 X 4s and the long winter to work at it and join SS/B by Pomona time.. I still get my mind making plans to rejoin SS racing and A or B would be the place , |

The Hemi Challenge was all that, and B/SA, A/stick and GT/AA were all barn burners, but my greatest anticipation was to see how SS/B was going to shake out. All I had heard about and read about on the net was how a couple of T-bolts would be the favorites to take the class. I knew there would be a driver of a certain white Corvette that would have something to say about all of that. If memory serves correct the 2 Bolts and Bridges were within about 7 thou of each other in qualifying. I was on the edge of my seat as Bridges took the final. Nothing beats the class run offs at Indy, and congrats to Jimmy Bridges and his win. |
