A few years ago my buddy tony morris brought his restored mini cooper(the real mini)to gainesville and 5 of us squeezed into it and went to dinner on friday night..multiple car loads of college kids were beeping at us,and you should have seen the people come out of the restaurant to watch us get back in that car after dinner

I guess you could still go there and hang out.
I'll be 57 this year.

I have been to the Gators from 1973 to 1999. Had my bachelor's party there in 1983.Later in the 80's they moved the date back one week on my anniversary date. I got away with it for years but with so many Nationals now ,I have been cutting that one off the list. But I loved it.

In the early 90's we started using a motorhome and staying at the track, so that was the end of the Brown Derby.

My favorite pastime in a situation like that was to hunt up a group of Ford racers and start an arguement about horsepower!

We used to go bowling in Indy or to the Indy 500 museum, you could ride around the brickyard on the bus.

We've watched many a movie, drained more than one bottle of crown. However two years ago at the Gator's someone backed into Kevin Cradduck's rental car and broke the tail light. So off we (me, Cradduck, Fuqua, ) into town to find another one. About 5 hours, a dozen stops later we finally got back to the track. That was a riot, just riding around with that group. Also go hit satchel's pizza. Kind of a hippy joint but great pizza and cold beer

Just for your information: I have a pontoon boat for sale should the water get too high in the pits tomorrow.

If it's raining at the Gators........go check out the Gators! There's a place, forget the route number, that you can pull over to the side of the road and see live alligators in the wild.

If it keeps raining they won't have to leave the property -- they'll have them "floating" right up to the trailers..........
