I give you credit for changing your mind about the FX classes. Last year you were among a group of racers who fought this idea tooth and nail. Most of the others in this group have run for parts unknown. Good for you.

Unless I am wrong I think you will see a lot more long time racers stay home next year or at least close to home.

I feel the 2008 Mustang is a pretty legitimate example of what a Mustang Stocker should look like. The HP rating is it's biggest problem. Once it is corrected the car will be too heavy for stock. Nothing has changed there. I love the Challengers, but still feel that a production style intake and throttle body would have been a better choice for Stock. I do not like the 5.9. I would love to see GM do something. I haven't looked hard at the specs. for the 2010 Mustang, but I think that they have changed the situation some. I had really hoped that they would have stuck to Modular Motors when they went NA. The main reason that I have changed my mind on the idea of an FX class is how poorly everyone has acted in regards to these cars. I race Stock for fun. I surely don't want every other racer PO'ed just because of what I bring to the track. |

Gump,
I doubt the new car racers would be PO'd because of what you brought to the track. But it's important for the racers to come to some reasonable solution. The FX classes that you detailed offer a reasonable position for all of us. That is all we need.

I doubt anybody would be PO'd when you are fast. They will be like "big deal, it's just a bogus rating". Won't respect you for it, only a pud could take one of those cars and not qualify at the top & kill in a heads up.
It's like with me "He eats too much, he should be fat."

I heard he won't spend a dime on the car. He expects eveything to be given to him. He was dq'd for one run at Indy last year because his fuel (supposedly pump gas) would not pass. He went to the VP trailer and threw a fit when told he had to pay for the fuel. Good car or not, a racer still has to spend a few bucks to get it down the track. He apparently broke this year. He is probably not a very good role model for future DP owners.
