Re: U/SA
That would be fantastic, where it all started. How can you not like the idea.

Now, if I was going to drive 1500 miles, I'd rather be in St.Louie , with a Nat, double Div,. and a money race, all in the same week. Plus, I hear there are a few new ones being built , and they probably won't be ready early in the year. ;-)

Re: U/SA
The most fun time racing was at the inaugural Cajun Sportsnationals in 2004. Pat Joffrion knew how to put on a race. Here are some of the fun factors,
A bar at the bottom of the tower so you can watch the races in the A/C. A private Corral for the U/SA competitors. Live bands. Killer crawfish boil with all the fixins put on by Laris Insurance. CIC race within. Bottle of water after time trials at the ET booth. Showers and TV room for the racers. Track hooks. Hanging out with any of them Cajun folks. No pro cars. Gift bags at the scales. Racing afoot late at night, track still hooks. The fans are great. Concession food really good along with the food vendors. Track workers do a fine job. Being able to watch the races from the wood constructed elevated covered private pit area for track champion. Being able to go into town and stop at a place that has soul food & daiquiri's drive thru. Warning, the Budweiser cans are only 10 ounces. The school bus ride. There was this one famous racer from them parts that could imitate a pro stock bike to perfection, can't remember his name but he was part of the school bus scene, may he RIP. We just had a blast at this race, so many good times in one weekend.Great people all around. No curfew.

Re: U/SA
Bar at base of tower was the best. Cheap booze, race reruns, air, picture widow to watch races.
Joe T swamp tour, yes on the peach moonshine. Felt like we were treatment the best anyone could treated. Tracks was great. No way i can get my olds done in time and be that competitive to make the trip from Az |

Re: U/SA
You have to be competitive to go? Heck, I went when I knew Bob Shaw was going to be there and a host of slow rockets. The adventure was well worth it.
