Cotton Owens 1964 1- 4 bbl. NASCAR Hemi I guess; lots of chrome there. Looks like the car is in full street dress with a roll cage and foreward bars.

Cotton Owens passed away this morning. His wife passed away in April.

So I dont have to deal with the engine set back anymore. I dont know how guys got away with the engine setback, on my 64' Dodge the crossram is really close to the firewall with the stock K member. Did guys push, move or cut the firewall to hide that distance ?

Mark,

Some people redrilled the mounting holes on the motor mounts, you could get about 3/4's to an inch rear movement.

A Porta-Power accomplished the task.

It was not just about putting it back. The engine had to be dropped as well the further down the further back with out messing with the fire wall. And if you had a flat hood car it got the carbs further away from the hood. Net time at the track when there is max wedges around take a good look!!!!!

Jimi, I loved the pic of your Dads car. It brought back memories of a better time. I'll be looking forward to seeing it at a race.
