Why isn't Barton on the stock sheets? Did he not make it through tear down?

Some comments and observations from Friday at the Dutch. Again it was another perfect weather day clear blue sky's and temps in the low 70s - the kind of racing whether we all dream about. The racing went smoothly today with just a few minor interruptions for breakage. The Super Street and SG turn out was a little lite. SC turnout seemed OK. I didn't see very many top dragster or top sportsman cars and only a handful of comp cars. Stock and SS were done with their two qualifying runs by 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

The weather for the first run in the morning was just a little bit better than yesterday with temps a little cooler, but the barometer a little lower. By the time the second qualifying round was run the barometer had fallen a couple hundredths - temps were up and as a result most cars fell off anywhere between .03 to .06.

As reported earlier the stock qualifying sheet does not include the first round due to a computer snafu. Those times will be added to the database but I think the times for the class runs could be quicker and juggle sheet quite a bit.

There's a strong possibility of rain in the area tomorrow and depending on which forecast you look at there may be just the period of showers midmorning or heavy rain that washes out the complete day.

Finally for those racers not in Division 1, this really is one of those bucket list races. We've all watched these races from D3 or D5 and wondering how fast would I go if I could run in that good D1 air. The light turnout in some of the super categories and top categories makes this race feel almost like a Stock SS show. there will be some good class racing and shootouts tomorrow (weather permitting) which adds to the excitement level of this race. It can make for a nice way to close out the season.

So Mike What's the answer to the Barton question? Why is not on the sheets?

Barton not on the sheet? Don't know. His run in the first qualifying session is likely with all the rest of the first run data. I wouldn't read anything into it just yet.

While on the topic of the cars trying to be the first in the sevens two of the fast CJs have some engine issues which could keep them in the trailer tomorrow.

Did Monahan lower the record from last week in K/SA 11.49?

As promised Superfan 1 Bill Seabrooks was at the Grove bright and early on Thursday morning.

From the left Paul Precht, George Baptiste, and JC Childress. Paul is a hard core Mopar guy who promises that his Max Wedge stocker will be here next year. George is a true SS Hemi legend and is building a 64 Plymouth Hemi Stocker with a stick. JC runs the front end of Kowalsky Racing Engines and has a SS Nova in the works. Along with great racing, a first class facility, meeting people like Paul and George and seeing friends like JC make the 9 hour ride from Michigan well worth it.
