Re: Live from Phoenix - NHRA Arizona Nationals
Well, I know weather forecasters are rarely wrong, especially 5 days in advance. Hopefully they will be wrong this time though. Should have a better idea on Thursday what the weather will be like.
If you don't make it, there will always be plenty of other races to go to. Take care, -Toby Last edited by Toby Lang; 02-23-2010 at 02:48 PM. |

Quote:
I feel bad for the sportsman racers who couldn't stay for the divisional, and thus wasted there gasoline & finances (in this economy most of us can nil afford such, but the extra day or two would've been ok, and the better weather was forecasted as well). Furthermore, if the forecasters are right then all of the five classes not contested at the nationals will definitely be screwed with only getting one qualifying run (I bet they'll be real happy with that...NOT, especially since nearly 2/3's of Friday's schedule will be gobbled up with running out the nationals!!??), as well as those of who were hoping to set e.t. records....after-all those classes with unset records just need a run of .2 quicker than the index to set them now (at least as things stand now)! I'm thus glad that I don't have a Comp. or a Top Sportsman car, because if any of the door cars are as quick as the Pro Stockers (and don't have the ability to use downforce creating items), they're going have possible issues with that left lane too, and whatever funds Thursdays Test n Tune brings in will not come close to what they need to resurface that track to make it safer for all cars....it's situations like these that make me glad my car is a slower roller, and a cheaper tower!!!

Hmmm, wonder if Jack Matyas and others that were heading back to Phoenix to finish last weeks event and run the divisonal got out of here today before all this bad weather hit.....Heard it's a real blizzard in parts of NY, NJ, and Pa.....Also, here in New England tonite we're getting hammered w/heavy (2-4") rain and very high winds.....all after 1 ft.+ of snow on Wednesday. Crazy weather.....7pm TV news tonite said there are already 1400 plus flights cancelled in the northeast....Jack, are you there? WJ

Re: Live from Phoenix - NHRA Arizona Nationals
They've already put a super gas car on it's lid in the left lane.

Re: Live from Phoenix - NHRA Arizona Nationals
People have said that there's a dip in the left lane after the 1000 ft mark? Is that what's causing all the crashes in that lane, or?? Doesn't make sense to keep sacrificing cars and w/a good chance of maybe getting someone hurt badly or even lose another life out there....WJ

Re: Live from Phoenix - NHRA Arizona Nationals
I have run there and haven't had a problem with the dip in my 10.70 truck. But if you get out of the very tite groove you will spin the tires and get out of shape. When it happened to me I just lifted. I'm a chicken but I want to drive it on the trailer.

Jack,
That is just a dusting of snow you got there, I'll be down with my snowmobiles and we can hit the PA trails. Dave
