Yeah, I was about the only 1 left he had not been to war yet with, my turn was coming. But, my last race week at Thanksgiving racing against a lot of quite fast cars turned out so favorably, that I have fully embraced the slow go, as long as I turn on lotsa win lights.
Beg Edly is the very least of my worries today. Jon & John Irving I am headed your way the end of this month sirs as I need a trailer soon to hook up to an F-150 in my garage. I'll give you a call unless you are going to test in Vegas on the 24th. As soon as I figure out the last few wires of the ignition and fire it up on the Terminator X and start the learn sequence I am going to be tap, tapping a new tune and dancing a little bit faster this year I hope. So, even Ed cannot dampen my 2025 spirits. 7K RPM shift points are going to be sweet to accomplish and work up to. I am the most nocturnal night owl who hates 8:00 AM starts....Unless it is a race day. Heck, it is now 6:08 AM, been working on the racecar and truck all night and now am ready to go to bed. Good night Ed...lmao. "Slow Ride...Take it easy..." Anytime you want to shoe polish race Ed (yeah I know you have a fast car with all the electronics, maybe you might wanna come out for the Spring Fling?) Maybe put a little cash behind that fast mouth of yours.

Stock and super stock are my favorite classes because beautiful cars and the wheels up leaves. As long as a car sounds like it’s doing all it can do from the time the light turns green to the top end I don’t mind watching the slower cars I can’t stand watching throttle stop cars.

As for my (as you call it, "turd" racer), I'll share some facts with you: 1. I have two Wally's that I earned in <100mph cars (one of which was actually called "Oscar" back in the '80's), circa 1981 D5 Street Eliminator Champion, and 2020 D7 Phoenix double-header Stock Eliminator 2nd race winner (fyi, the 1st race I made the 1/4 finals in)! 2. I also have two Cactally's that I earned in 2022 and 2023! I know you don't have one of them, as you would've had to race in the "Arizona Stock/Super Stock Association" combo races to have a chance to earn one, and you're there in New Jersey! 3. I've been in three final rounds at as many Stock/Super Stock oriented races, and guess what, my so-called (by you), "turd" is 3-0! 4. My worst reaction time at Maple Grove Raceway last year was my 1st rnd rt. of .019, with the others in order being .016, .013, and. 018! My motivation for trying to win the race would've been enhanced mightily if you were my opponent in that race, whether you're the Fernandez, Ed, or anotherone!?

Gary, Ed Fernandez passed away a few years ago. He WAS quite a ballbuster but he wasn't really a bad guy if you got to know him. I kinda miss him.

[QUOTE=Chuck Weissberg;707501]Would've preferred stock not to have been the first out at Maple Grove this past October, our class was running 8.10s, and it was still in the 40s at 9am. But we know going in that we're first up, just have to plan accordingly.

I actually appreciate the perspective here. I have no sympathy for folks trying to go 175+ in SG trim that complain they can't get down on a marginal track, or factory stockers trying to go 140+ on a 9 inch tire. That's your choice, figure it out.
