I think this is the major point of the original post. It is interesting in how today with social media and cell phones it's not about talent it's about popularity, and with the popularity comes the money. I sit and wonder how the whole thing works, how people make money from FB, Tiktok and fake currency. Then I realize I'm old and really don't give a damn and go back to working on my own junk.

Selling porn to go racing (whether it's of yourself or of a company that facilitates its distribution) is gross but besides the point. I'm ready for talent to be favored over looks and followers. Give me pro drivers I can like and respect.

Like anything that involves anything sexual the discussion seems to take the wrong turn. People look at the finger and never see the moon.
The discussion about talent to be favored over looks and likes is a great discussion. Applies to racing and many other things like music. Unfortunately unlike years back today it's ALL about money and what you'll do to get it. It always took money but passion and talent was a bigger part of the equation.

It is NOT about drag racing. If there is an angle to exploit or a way to get above the rest, outsell, THAT is what is important, the product? Who cares as long as I make money.

And THAT is why I never officially opened a micro. I love making liquor, I don't like yaking to braindead people in farmers markets and fighting with government regulations to be politically correct, etc.

EDIT: I love drag racing, I don't love marketing so I won't be having various decals all over my car.
