"They say envy is the thief of joy. I am extremely grateful for all that I have and I am very proud of it and all my race family. BUT WHY IN THE EVER LOVING HELL DOES SHE HAVE 5 SPONSORS AND STARTING A TOP ALCOHOL TEAM?! Why does all the talent that already exists in NHRA class racing get overlooked in favor of some well spoken person? It makes me so mad. I'll post a few images so you guys can make your own judgement. I'll never understand corporate America and I hate it more everyday.

fyi, her main sponsor is OnlyFans (primarily a pornography sight) and her nude photos exist in the public domain (That's one thing I did not research, someone DMed me on FB griping about it too and told me that). She essentially got where she is by selling herself and is openly proud and embracing it. Gross"

I think this is the major point of the original post. It is interesting in how today with social media and cell phones it's not about talent it's about popularity, and with the popularity comes the money. I sit and wonder how the whole thing works, how people make money from FB, Tiktok and fake currency. Then I realize I'm old and really don't give a damn and go back to working on my own junk.

Eman, thank you for highlighting the original point of this thread. Selling porn to go racing (whether it's of yourself or of a company that facilitates its distribution) is gross but besides the point. I'm ready for talent to be favored over looks and followers. Give me pro drivers I can like and respect.

Like anything that involves anything sexual the discussion seems to take the wrong turn. People look at the finger and never see the moon.
The discussion about talent to be favored over looks and likes is a great discussion. Applies to racing and many other things like music. Unfortunately unlike years back today it's ALL about money and what you'll do to get it. It always took money but passion and talent was a bigger part of the equation.

It is NOT about dragracing or anything else. It is about promotion of products. I was going to open a micro distillery and after a long build up I concluded that being a distiller which I loved, is not the main point. Being a marketer is what is important. Some products are disgusting but sell well, why? marketing!

It is NOT about drag racing. If there is an angle to exploit or a way to get above the rest, outsell, THAT is what is important, the product? Who cares as long as I make money.

And THAT is why I never officially opened a micro. I love making liquor, I don't like yaking to braindead people in farmers markets and fighting with government regulations to be politically correct, etc.

EDIT: I love drag racing, I don't love marketing so I won't be having various decals all over my car.

Love your reply,
Im just curious, I thought you could not advertise any type of porn, example: websites, strip clubs, etc on a vehicle competing in nhra?

Dawson,

There has been plenty of good advice given in this thread. The above is the best you're going get, take it & run with it; I'm sure you will!

As for sponsorship(s) or marketing partners sometimes they come in different forms. I have mainly been blessed with my financial backers/supporters & race car owners. It started with my rookie year winning a track championship (foundation), many...many moons ago. I continued to be a consistent above average racer for over 35+ years now. Anyway, get creative with promoting your race program. I started with the local news channels & newspapers. Then got some regional sports network recognition & some limited national exposure. Build your foundation, do some creative self-promotion, get your name out there, drive many different race vehicles, just to name a few items.

While I was grateful for my traditional sponsors/marketing partners. The best part of my racing program was my financial backers/supporters & a close 2nd was the car owners I drove for. I never understood why some of my supporters or car owners did what they did for me. They never wanted anything in return, didn't want any recognition! They just wanted B King to be successful. Thanks for all the support/backing over many...many years!

I wish you the best in your future racing endeavors. You're a breath of fresh air to CR. Keep up the good hard work & great things are coming your way! Patience ............

When it comes to the Pro categories whether it be NHRA or Nascar sometimes the best drivers don't make it there in favor of another driver that brings the funding to the party. Listening to the Dale Jr podcast over the last couple years has helped me realize how much this effects drivers getting their chances depending on their relationships and the sponsorship money they bring with them. It may not always be the case but is more times than not.

Didn't John Force's daughter pose for a very revealing
photo shoot some year back.

As I recall it did not work out very well with some of her sponsors!

Yes, 2013, Courtney, ESPN's body issue. Don't know about the sponsors.

And from 1999, for the OP, The Dunn F. Pedregon AA/FC sponsored by Penthouse.
