Are you refering to the BOP 12-Bolt vs Chevy 12-Bolt?
The term "12 bolt" refers to the number of bolts on the ring gear, not the cover. The BOP "12 bolt" actually has only 10 bolts on the ring gear while the Chevy "12 bolt" has 12 bolts on the ring gear. Also, the BOP has a smooth cover and it is not scalloped like the Chevy cover. Internal parts are not interchangeable. |

Correct, they wont interchange parts.
Easy way to know which one you have is to look at end of axle tube where bolts to backing plate. If tube is straight and not tapered it's a BOP rear end. If the last 3 inches of tube tapers down at backing plate its a chevy |
