Estimated Roll Out
Hey all, I'd like to start practicing on my practice tree as I finish up my stocker. What is everyone's estimated roll out? I need to know what to punch in for the settings on my practice tree. On my bracket car I usually set the roll out to ~.180-.200 (it's pretty lite, I can hit a .4 PT with it) and then use the delay box to account for the rest. I want to set the rollout up for the stocker and 0 the box out and just work on hitting a spot, but I want to to be kinda close so I don't have to do tons of adjusting to the car to move it to a spot I create. For a mid-alphabet car (L-P/SA) off the footbrake I'm estimating it will be around .330-.350. Does that seem about right to you guys? Obviously I know there is a ton of variability as far as weight, front end travel, hp, gearing, 2-step vs non-2-step and things of that nature. I'm just looking to ball park it. Any input would be great, thanks!

Re: Estimated Roll Out
I was always into tech so when the Vericom200 came out in the late 80s I bought one. Refresh rates and sensor response was not what it is today so take this with a grain of salt.
I bought it to have a testing means when I wasn't at the track. I was racing a Buick GN at the time and trying all sorts of different chip tunes. I always took it to the track so I compare what it read compared to the clock. The accelerometer in it did not account for rollout. So consistently, the ET it displayed was .3 off from my time slip - it never varied. Just another data point, but remember that I was running street tires on the front. |
