I have to agree with Jeremy my situation wasn’t nearly as drastic as his but at the same race last week end first round of stock I am in the water box the engine won’t Rev up i recently converted my car to a stick shift 4 speed, I thought I might have put it in 3rd instead of first, tried it twice then it hit me ! The carb cap ! I opened the door and my young crewman saw me pointing at the hood he scrambles to get the hood up and at least 6 other racers including one of the Emmons brothers are over there helping him get the hood up, cap off, and hood pinned back down !! I see the NHRA guy watching his wrist watch as I am doing the burnout and with all their help I make it before being timed out !! It truly humbled me to see all those guys running to my aid , just a small time old guy trying to have some fun ! Truly racers are great friends! Btw I won that round via opponent red light, then had the second round won and went to slam the brakes as to not breakout and hit the usual left pedal and then realized too late that isn’t the brake anymore!! Broke out by 3 hun with over a car length lead, getting old has its many problems but I’m blessed to be still able to race at 75 years old! Thanks again to all the great race family.

I also have hit the clutch pedal instead of the brake. In eliminations once in high gear I have to remember to bring my left foot over and rest on the brake pedal. But sometimes, being old, I forget.
