Wade you can use a 12 bolt rear without question.

Wade, with that high RPM little 3" stroke 283, and a 'glide, in a 3300 pound car...
that factory rear end, with the right components, is ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM AT ALL. I've been using them, and ONLY them, in 55-64 cars for 30 years.... including my brother's all steel 55 Chevy street car, with a big block, that ran a 9.70 @ 140 MPH.

Wade,
Good luck with the car-it'll be beautiful and you'll get lots of looks with the fans-I love 55-62 Vettes and if I ever hit the lottery, I'd buy one. Plus with all the heads up runs and all the great looking cars in stock these days, I predict it'll become the most popular sportsman class among fans, and I hate to say that as a comp car owner. |
